The Episcopal Church:
"The Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement!"
Welcome to the Saint Mary's Episcopal Church!
We're a faith community of Jesus Christ our Lord in the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington, and what we do here is getting down to the basics when it comes to following Jesus. We are called to Love God + Love Everyone (and we mean everyone) + and Love Ourselves. This love in action looks like treating all people in the exact manner you want to be treated - or as Rabbi Hillel taught, "That which is hateful to you, do not do to another. That is the whole Law. The rest is commentary, now go and learn."
St. Mary's is located in the coal field region of Appalachia. The current building was built in 1890 and is modeled after a church in Middlesbrough, England. We are a growing congregation that most of us would say is a family. We are active in various types of outreach in the local community. Just like a family, we work hard, but still take time to have fellowship with each other and to have fun.
Consider yourself welcomed to Saint Mary's where you are welcomed as we welcome the living Christ.
